Wakeboarder Casey Ward
My name is Casey Ward, I’m 17 years of age. I live in Mount Maunganui, located in the sunny Bay Of Plenty in the North Island of New Zealand.
I started wakeboarding when I was nine years old and competed in my first competition when I was 10.
Wakeboarding is my passion and since my first competition I have had many podium placings and memorable achievements, like my first backroll during a comp, Most promising rider, Selected to represent New Zealand at the worlds and more recently most promising cable park rider.
My love for the sport has given me the courage and determination to push my own boundaries allowing me to go bigger with my spins and inverts and to continue expanding my selection of tricks.
Over the past few years I have had the opportunity to train with some of the world’s best coaches and wakeboarders. My goal is to one day to compete as a professional wakeboarder against the world’s best as well as coach other kiwi wakeboarders and grow the sport.
Most weekends you will find me either wakeboarding on Lake Atiamuri or skateboarding in various locations around Tauranga.
